3 Months!!

Wow! It has been 3 months today that we officially became a family of four!! How time flies! Carrie has been a wonderful addition to our family, she is such an amazing baby!! We absolutely love her to pieces. She has changed a lot in 3 months... so sad!! I don't remember time flying by quite so quickly with Andrew... although I am sure it did. Carrie spends more time awake now, and gives us lots of SMILES!! (which totally melts my heart everytime!!) She is an AMAZING sleeper... and most nights sleeps through the night!! She really likes music, it helps to calm her down when she gets upset. She loves to be held and played with... she will even smile at Andrew when he is working her over... tickling, snuggling, ect. Although she is only 3 months old, it is hard to remember life without her. We love you sweet girl, and are glad you are with us!!!

Splish, Splash!! They were takin' a BATH!!

A favorite part of day for me is BATHTIME!! Not only is it nice to know that the day is winding down (since we do it at night), but I love to watch my kids in the water! Andrew gets SOOO excited, especially if there are BUBBLES involved! He loves to take toys into the tub, his trucks are his new favorite. He loves to drive them all over the tub and "wash" them. It is nonstop fun, spashing and "swimming!!" Carrie doesn't let loose the way that Andrew does, but she has learned to really like bathtime as well. Andrew likes to help me bathe her. The only thing that beats bathtime is that which follows.... bedtime!

Andrew thought it was so funny to fill up the bottle and empty it out into the water... he couldn't stop laughing!!

There he goes filling it up again!!

Here is Carrie in the tub, calm and collected... completely opposite of her brother!

Nose Job...

I try to find something to keep Andrew busy while I do the dishes or make dinner. One of his favorite things to do is sit up at the counter and play with PLAYDOUGH!! This particular day Kevin was playing with him. I am just finishing up the dishes when Andrew says, "Look Mommy, look at me!!" I was not expecting what I saw, and it really made me laugh!! He had a bright orange playdough nose stuck to his face!! I couldn't help but get a picture, he was so proud of his nose. I love how even the most simple of toys can keep him entertained (and actually, usually the more simple toys keep his attention LONGER). But he learned a new way to play with his playdough... I wonder what he will discover next!!

STRRRETCH!!

Okay, so this may be something that only a mother could appreciate, but I love it so much I wanted to share it. Carrie loves to be swaddled, and sleeps much better, and longer, when she is. Well, when she wakes up and is unwrapped her from the confines of her blanket, and she stretches, and stretches... it is just the cutest thing. The second her arms are free they stretch above her head, once she has done that a few times it becomes a whole body stretch, her legs extending and lifting off the ground. She also pulls all kinds of different faces during this process. I have told Kevin when I am watching her that I could watch her do this all day... and now that I have it on video, I really can!!!

"I wanna play TRAIN!!"

My little Andrew loves, loves, LOVES trains!! He is such a boy, he loves anything with wheels. But he has a special place in his heart for trains. He was given a train set for his birthday almost a year ago, and he plays with it EVERYDAY!! Sometimes for hours at a time! It is such the greatest toy, and has expanded his imagination. There are countless ways to set up the tracks, and he is constantly rearranging them. He often uses things such as a stool for a "tunnel," and loves to put things on the track and watch the train crash. It is so much fun to watch him play!! I have even seen him make his trains talk to one another. Now, Andrew is very possessive of his train, and has a hard time sharing... unless it is with his daddy. Andrew loves his train so much that there have been times that he hasn't wanted to stop playing at bedtime. So... we have say good-bye to the train before we put it away, which sometimes consists of a hug and kiss goodnight!

Yes, I am a train addict!!

Putting the tracks together... again!!!Bonding over trains... doesn't get much better than that! Doesn't that look like fun?

Another Day in the Life...

As always, I have been enjoying my kids!! Carrie has been awake more during the day, which is so fun!! She smiles and coos all the time now, which is just the cutest thing!! It is amazing to me that each day I love my kids more... is that possible? Andrew loves Carrie so much and takes good care of her. He likes to make sure she is covered by a blanket, give her her binkie, and tickle her! He wishes that he could carry her around as well... but for some reason I haven't let him try that.

The other day I was sitting by Andrew on the couch. We have this thing where I say to him, "Mommy... loves.... Andrew!!" then he replies, "Andrew loves Mommy!!" Well, I said that to him, and when I said, "Andrew," I tickled him a little bit. Instead of saying his line he said, "Mommy, be nice!!" Kevin kind of gave me a hard time so I said, "Daddy, be nice!!" Then Andrew looked at me and said, "No, MOMMY be nice!!" It made me laugh and laugh. There are times that I feel more like a child than a mom!!
The other day I was making cookies... which Kevin and Andrew LOVE. Andrew was very excited, and wanted to help out. So he sat on the counter next to the mixer and helped me to add the ingredients. Sometimes the bowl was missed, and the ingredients ended up on the counter, but its all good. I enjoy cooking, but it was even more fun with my little helper. Andrew loves to help out when I am doing chores, more than I would like sometimes!! but is very cute.

OUTING...

This afternoon we were able to escape our stuffy little apartment, and enjoy some much needed fresh air! We went for a walk to an elementary school we live near, and had fun on the playground there! This was Carrie's first time going for a walk OUTDOORS... as it has been too cold to take her out! It was so much fun, and I think it did more good for Andrew than anyone. He ran, and ran, and ran!! Kevin and I have a hard time keeping up with that little guy. Needless to say, he crashed when we got home he was so tired... which is definitely an added bonus!

Andrew is a FEARLESS climber!! He didn't think twice about climbing this wall, he just went for it!

I loved this picture!! When Carrie wears this cute little jacket I call her my Little Red Riding Hood.

WHEEE!!! Andrew is all about the slides!

Can't get ENOUGH of those KIDS!

I know I talk about this a lot, but I honestly feel that one of my biggest blessings and accomplishments are my kids!! Yes, I am addicted to their cute faces, their smiles, and just about everything about them. They make me so happy, and seeing them TOGETHER is like the cherry on top! I cannot believe how time flies, and how fast they grow. Although I am loving every minute, sometimes I wish that time could just stop so I could savor every bit and piece of each day I am with them. I am learning, (slowly, I might add), just how precious these years are, when they are young. I want to look back having no regrets, wishing I had done things differently, or wishing I had spent more time with them. I love being part of this sweet small family of four... the love we have for one another is immeasurable. I could not have imagined a better and more satisfying life for myself if I tried!

Andrew INSISTED that Carrie sit next to him so he could read her stories!
After several stories Carrie was just plain tuckered out, so Andrew helped to tuck her into his bed.
Can you tell yet that Andrew loves his baby sister?... I have no doubt that she feels the same about him.

the GREATEST blessing...

Yesterday Carrie was blessed in Sacrament meeting, by her awesome daddy. It was such a beautiful blessing, and a beautiful day. It was spent with lots of family, and it couldn't have been any more perfect!! We are so thankful for being blessed with two amazing children. They bring so much joy into our lives... what did we ever do without them?!?

Taking Turns

We hope to teach our kids by example...

The other day we went outside to enjoy some fresh air. It was not necessarily warm, but it was decent. One of Andrew's FAVORITE things to do is ride his bike... and as you can see, so does Kevin! haha. Andrew and Kevin took turns pushing each other back and forth on the bike. It was really funny to watch! I was surprised at how willing Andrew was to share his bike. In fact, there were several times that he got off of the bike and said, "Daddy's turn!" and he would then push Kevin. It seems like Andrew learned a great lesson, and had a lot of fun in the process!!!

Piano Lessons...

So, in the previous post I had a picture of Andrew and my sister Diana playing the piano... well, I came across the video, and I love it so much. I think it is so funny, I wish you all could have been there!! This is a short clip of how the jammin' session went! (You may want to turn off the music I have playing so you can hear the video) ENJOY!!!

How Andrew behaves during his "piano lessons"
video

Being a stay at home mom, my life literally revolves around my children, and so do all of my stories!! But I couldn't be happier spending my time with them. Today Carrie was just hanging out in her swing, and Andrew went up to her and said, "Hi Carrie" (now, when he does this he gets RIGHT up into her face). He then looked at me and said, "I love Carrie." Nothing could have made me happier at that moment!! I had never heard him say that before. Then within seconds he was back to poking her, and trying to stick his finger in her mouth. He has also become quite protective of Carrie, and feels it is his duty to take care of her. Last night he actually told me that I was being too loud, and that I needed to be quiet because Carrie was trying to sleep!!! That's a bit of a role reversal wouldn't you say!!

Jammin'

Andrew and his Aunt Diana having a piano jam session... We don't have a piano of our own (hopefully someday!), but Andrew loves to play. Whenever Diana sits down to play, Andrew comes a runnin'. He likes to sit down and play with her, it is quite the show!! This particular time he would play, then spin around on his bottom on the bench, then go back to playing. He did that over and over, I could not stop laughing!! I had a video of it, but I couldn't find it on the computer... so you will just have to take my word for it!!

the BEST of Friends...

I absolutely love spending time with my amazing kids! They are too great. I love to see their sweet sweet smiles. I love to hear Andrew laugh!! I am so lucky to be able to spend each and every day with them, watching them learn and grow. I cannot wait until Carrie gets a little older to see them interact and play together. I want them to be the best of friends!!
