Just so Darn HAPPY...

Lately Andrew has been talking a lot about different feelings. If he gets an owie, he will say, "That makes me sad." He talks about grumpy, and angry, and tired, and hungry. My all time favorite is when he talks about being HAPPY!! Yesterday I gave him a snack and he said, "Thanks! That makes me really happy!" Isn't that exactly what all moms need to hear? Oh it made me feel so good, one of those 'I am a good mom' moments. All I know, is that my cute kids and my handsome husband MAKE ME REALLY HAPPY! Just looking at my kids sweet, innocent, HAPPY faces makes me happier than I could have ever imagined. Their smiles are very contagious!! I love my family, and I love my Heavenly Father for blessing my life and allowing me to have these (and many other) happy people in my life.

I absolutely love these pictures because they captured their sincere happiness... who couldn't feel happy looking at those smiley faces?

Whee!! I mean, Wii!!

Last night our home teacher and his family came over. It works out great, because Kevin is also their home teacher. Both of their companions recently moved out of the ward, so we decided to do it as families. Well, they came over, and we had a short lesson with the kids, then played some Wii. So, all in one night we were able to have FHE, get home teaching done, and have a party... it was great!! We have absolutely loved getting to know the Haslam family!! We cannot wait until next weeks party! :)

This is their cute cute little boy Ashton. He is just fascinated with Carrie and kept giving her "loves"... more like laying on her, but it was so very cute and sweet.

Lotsa FUN in the SUN!

Wow, summer is upon us, and we have been loving it!! We have been spending much of our time enjoying the great outdoors. Most of the time it is not far, in fact, just out the back door and on our back patio. But we are enjoying the hot sun, and are trying to live it up. Andrew loves to play in his sandbox, slide, and pool!! Great times I tell ya!

This is Andrew "sleeping like a fish," resting his head on his slide. He says funny things. Gosh, he is really getting to big for this pool. He doesn't really have any room to "swim," but he will have to make due for at least another summer, poor kid. Oh well, he doesn't seem to mind!!!

Carrie has enjoyed being outside too. Isn't she so cute? Her hat is way to big for her, it kept falling down covering her eyes... but it matched her outfit, so what can ya do?
About a week ago we headed up to Park City for a few days. Oh, it was so beautiful, and so much fun. I think it is exactly what all of us needed!! We spent a lot of time just relaxing and kicking back, which was absolutely wonderful. We spent a day at Jordanelle Reservoir, and that was the highlight of our trip. It was so fun to watch Andrew play on the beach, and to experience the COLD water. It took him some time to warm up to the idea of actually going IN the water, or even touching it for that matter, but once he did there was no stopping him.
Trying not to let Carrie get TOO much sun, I hung out with her under the terrace. The scenery there was absolutely beautiful!! Everything is so green right now, and with the mountains right behind the water, it was absolutely breath taking.

Kevin and Andrew enjoying the water... Andrew stopping only long enough to take ONE quick picture.
The four of us on the beach on our fun filled day
After we were done at Jordanelle we headed back to our condos where MORE swimming took place. I tell you, Andrew could not get enough!! We would head back up to our room, thinking he was exhausted. As soon as we would walk in and shut the door he would say, "Go swimming again?" Kevin was nice enough to take him again even after that. Needless to say he slept great that night (I meant Andrew, but Kevin did too)!!!
Carrie has been able to roll for a little bit now, but it has always been more of an accidental thing. While in Park City she really started to roll, and I accidentally got in on video. Anyway, since then she has been rolling like crazy!!

Happy Happy FaThEr'S DaY!!!

Since we will be gone on Father's Day I thought I would just take a moment now to wish Kevin a Happy Father's Day!!! He is such a great person, and wonderful daddy. It is so obvious when you see Kevin with the kids that they love him so much. He loves to make his kids laugh!! He plays games with Andrew, takes him on walks, and teaches him new things. Andrew looks forward each day for Kevin to come home from work, and goes crazy with excitement and energy when he does! Carrie lights up each time she sees him, and gives him the biggest smiles. I could go on and on telling you all the amazing things he does.

More importantly, he is a good example not only to our kids, but to me as well. He has a strong testimony of the gospel, and strives to live his life according to the teachings of Christ. One of my favorite things is to listen to him help Andrew to say his prayers, it is so sweet, and it brings the Spirit into our home.

I love the man that he is, and love that he is a part of my life. He has always been there for me and is my biggest support. He is my BEST FRIEND, for all time and eternity!!!

Ducks and more Ducks...

Tonight we went on a little adventure. We went to feed the ducks! We had so much fun, and it was beautiful. Andrew loved throwing bread to the ducks, there were so many, and it wasn't long before they were all around him. He also enjoyed CHASING the ducks. I am not sure how much fun the ducks were having, but Andrew was in pure heaven. It was so fun to watch him run around and around, he kept those ducks movin!

The batteries in the camera died on us... which was a little frustrating, but I was able to get a few pictures. This one of Andrew was my favorite one. He is totally in his element, just enjoying the beautiful outdoors.

Oh, now as a side note, I have a funny story... which relates to ducks in its own way. :) Last night I was getting Andrew ready for bed, and he was looking for one of his toys. He asked me where it was, and I said I didn't know. He asked me if it was downstairs by Carrie (she was down asleep in the swing), and I told him I didn't know, but that she was asleep. Then he said, "Oh. Daddy went night-night too. He snores... like a DUCK!!" I was not expecting him to say that, and I could not stop laughing. Kids, Ya gotta love 'em.

Yum-yum-yummy in her Tum-tum-tummy

Carrie was able to try some rice cereal for the first time yesterday. I was not sure how she would like it, but I am glad to report that she loved it... and had herself another good helping today. I remember the first time Andrew tried it he pulled a face, and had to warm up to the idea of solid foods... but not our Carrie. She took one tiny taste and smiled from ear to ear. While I was feeding her Andrew came in from the other room and saw me feeding her with a spoon, which he had never seen me do before. He rushed over and said, "Mommy!! What are you DOING to her?" So I explained to him that Carrie is eating, and he looked in the bowl of rice cereal and asked, "She has to eat THAT?" After he realized that everything was okay, he wanted to help to feed her. He thought it was so funny that the cereal got all over Carrie's face.

the end result... a happy baby!!!

Please pass the cherries!

I love summer! The produce that is available is just so yummy. When at the store I saw some cherries... mmmm, they looked so juicy!! I asked Andrew if we should get some, and he said yes! He later told me that he would like some "grapes," so I pulled them out of the fridge. I had to tell him that they aren't grapes, but cherries!! I also taught him that they had seeds in the middle of them, and that you should spit them out. He took one bite, and he was hooked. He especially enjoyed spitting out the pit...

Has it been ANOTHER month already??

Okay, so I know I have done this with each month, and if I haven't then I should have!! But Carrie is now 4 months old! I am constantly amazed how FAST time flies!!

Carrie is getting so big! She loves to sit up, she cannot do it on her own yet, but she is definitely working on it she wants to so bad! She babbles all the time now, and I love it! Kevin doesn't believe me, but when I asked her a question the other day she answered me by saying "ya." She really said that... in response to my question.. it's true!, why would I lie about something like that? Oh, she loves to smile, and I love to get her to laugh. She is absolutely fascinated with her older brother, she watches everything he does. She still sleeps mostly in her swing, however, which is something we need to work on. She can fall asleep on the bed, but she doesn't STAY asleep for very long, which is why we got in the habit of putting her in the swing in the first place. Oh well, at least she sleeps!! She has been a very easy and content little baby, and we sure do love her!! We feel so very blessed to have this sweet and beautiful girl as a part of our family.

I had a little photo shoot with her so that I can look back and see how she has grown... I want to remember each and every moment!!
Andrew wanted to get in on the action, and so, he did. And boy am I glad he did... they are such a cute pair!

By the end of it all Carrie was completely worn out... and so, she slept. What a beautiful sight!
