...but I'm not READY!!!

I am in shock right now, I just watched our baby girl do something I am NOT ready for her to do yet!!! She is starting to pull herself up to standing, using furniture. WHAT?!? She is a very skilled crawler now, but somehow I thought (or at least convinced myself) that she wouldn't be doing this for awhile still. Its not the pulling up the makes me crazy, its what follows... the WALKING and getting into everything. It is so fun to watch her, and yet I have this "oh no!!" feeling as I do. I have a hard time keeping up with Andrew, so it just makes me wonder how I can keep up with them both!! I don't know how moms with more than one child do it. I know that my reaction is partly because I want her to stay a baby, and not grow into a toddler... at least, not yet!! It is so fun to watch your kids learn new things and to grow, but why do they have to do it so FAST? They just don't stay babies long enough. That is probably why I feel like I need to take pictures of every little thing my kids do, because they do grow and change so quickly, and I want to remember each cute fun and exciting stage!! I do love that Carrie is so completely proud of herself though, and she gets a huge grin on her face after she stands up. So, since I can't stop time, or slow it down, I will just do my best to enjoy each new stage and the adventure each provides. I love my kids!!!

Standing up at the couch...
Carrie's favorite thing to pull up on is her swing... not the most stable thing to learn on!! We tried getting her to do it on the couch more, but she always goes back to the swing.
What a Silly Girl!

We are LOVIN' it!!!

I have absolutely been loving this fall weather. Since it is no longer hot like it was during the summer, we have been able to spend more time outside. In the words of Andrew... "HURRAY!!!" This has been especially good for Andrew who NEEDS to get out, but it seems to have lifted all of our spirits. Today we headed to Willow Park to enjoy the perfect weather, and let the kids play. Andrew ran around, climbed, went down the slides, and of course... enjoyed the swing!! Carrie enjoyed playing on the grass, and tried a baby swing for the first time. She LOVED it!!!

Here Andrew is climbing one of the many ladders... he has always loved to climb, and unfortunately he is good at it!! (he can climb on the counter now without a stool or anything, and gets in all the cupboards. Drives me crazy!!)

Carrie's first experience on the swing...
she was so relaxed. I thought at one point she was going to go to sleep!

Life is RICH...

Sometimes I feel just so LUCKY. It is more than luck really, I am extremely blessed. I often get caught up in the mundane things of life, and take for granted the many blessings I receive on a DAILY basis. I worry about money, and wonder how we are going to make it through another month full of bills to pay... but each month, we pay the bills. Each month we receive countless blessings. No matter how difficult things get, we continue to pay our tithing, and I know that we will always be taken care of. We may never be rolling in riches, but we will have what we need. Both Kevin and I come from wonderful families who would (and actually have) helped us in many ways. I love knowing that my family can be together FOREVER. I strive each day to be the example my kids need to return home to our Heavenly Father. I always knew that someday I wanted to get married and have a family. I never understood how HARD that would be, but I also didn't realize how REWARDING and FULFILLING it would be either!! Being a mom and wife is a full-time job, but I LOVE it. This gospel really is amazing, and I love that I don't have to be perfect! My children help to remind me that I am a DAUGHTER OF GOD. When my children try my patience I remind myself that they are CHILDREN OF GOD, and I can't help but smile. I am so thankful for my little family!!

These are the cute people I get to see each day and spend the eternities with!!
How could I NOT be happy!?!

Don't Worry, I Won't Bite...

Andrew has always loved books, and he enjoys "reading" stories to Carrie. Usually when he says he wants to read stories to Carrie he sits nowhere near her, and looks at his books... Carrie is in no way involved or included. Today however, he wanted to sit by her and read.

Aw... aren't they so cute?
They just seem so cozy, don't they? Well, don't be fooled... this did not last long!!

All was going fine until, heaven forbid, Carrie tries to touch the book...

poor Carrie, hopefully someday Andrew will learn to share!

What a Day, We got to pLaY!!!

Yesterday we went to Wheeler Farm.

We had so much fun, I can't wait to go again!! There is just something about this place that makes me so happy, I am not sure what it is. I remember going to Wheeler Farm as a kid, and it was fun to share that with my own kids. It was fun to be outdoors and enjoy the fall weather. I also love that Wheeler Farm is FREE!!! Andrew loved having the freedom to walk around and explore, and was so excited about everything we saw...

Here is Andrew feeding some food to the ducks. We have fed ducks several times now with Andrew, but he never gets tired of it!

Kevin with the kids. You can just see the excitement on Andrew's face!!

Andrew got to pet a COW.
Andrew getting up close to see the chickens...
What a face!!
Andrew is showing me his finger... he said the chicken got him.
OUCH!!!
Andrew and I just chillin' by the sheep.
The kids and Kevin waiting for a wagon ride.
(Notice the clouds and gray sky... it was cloudy when we went, but the weather was really starting to turn at this point.)
Andrew is still so excited about everything!! He just kept clapping and clapping.
We waited for our turn to go on the wagon ride. We had seen several pass, and all were fairly empty. When we went to wait where they pick you up, and this HUGE crowd of people came at the same time. It didn't seem like there were very many people there, where did all of these people come from? We decided to wait for the next wagon while watching all of these people pile and squish onto this wagon, it was so funny!! THEN, the next wagon came, and since at this point it was starting to rain, a lot of people left the farm, and those that WERE there all went on the previous wagon ride. So, we ended up getting our own personal wagon ride, just our family!! It was so much fun!!!

The four of us while ON our wagon ride. (in the rain!!)

Andrew was absolutely in heaven. His eyes were so big the whole time, just looking around at everything. The wagon was pulled by a tractor... like I said, HEAVEN!!

The sun came back out!!!

Our little Family

After we left Wheeler Farm we slowly made our way home to Logan. We made several stops along the way, running a few errands. As we were driving through Sardine Canyon we were in awe at how beautiful everything was. The leaves are already changing, and we had fun pointing out all the different colors with Andrew. We decided to stop and take a couple of pictures, and Kevin mentioned we go to the Sherwood Golf Course. Once there we drove up the road a little ways, and pulled over onto the side of the road near some trees. I know I worry too much, but I kept asking Kevin, "Are you sure this is okay, we are on private property you know!! He insisted it was fine. Just then a car was passed us very slowly, and the people in the car watched us as they drove by. I continued to watch the car, saw the car stop behind us, and turn around... it was coming back!! I kept telling Kevin, "Oh no, we are in so much trouble, they are coming back!!" The car drove past... We went to the trees and were taking some pictures when this same car comes back very slowly again... all the while I am telling Kevin, "Here they come again." Well, they stop in front of us, roll down the window, and ask: "Would you like us to take your picture?" "SURE!!!" Wow, these people weren't coming to haul us off to jail, they were offering to help us!! After that I calmed down, we took some pictures, and then we were on our way.

This is the picture the nice people took for us. :)
We couldn't have gotten one like this on our own!!
Aren't the leaves amazing?

Peaches and Crawling...

My sister went down to Brigham City last weekend, and she was nice enough to pick me up a box of peaches. They are so so yummy!! I got them so that I could bottle them, but I had a hard time not devouring the whole box! I went to my parents house so that I could bottle what was left, they have all the canning supplies needed, so that made it easy. I have helped my mom do this before, but it has been a REALLY long time, so I needed some guidance. My mom would have helped, but she had a class that night. Luckily my dad has been her assistant for many years now, and knows all the tricks of the trade! He made the comment, "I wonder how many daughters go home to learn how to bottle peaches... from their DAD." I don't know, but probably not many!! But I must say, they turned out great!! Thanks Dad for teaching me!!
Carrie has been learning to crawl, and she gets better and faster every day. The other day I was watching her play on the floor, and she started to climb under her Exersaucer. I didn't think she would be able to get over the little ledge and climb in, but sure enough, she did!! She was so proud of herself!

That smile tells it all...

So, now that she climbed in, can she get out??

...not a problem for this little girl!!!

One's a Learnin,' and One's a Twirlin'...

Being students and living off of a part-time income, it is no surprise that we don't have a lot of money. We had wanted to enroll Andrew in preschool this year, but then decided that was just not going to fit into our budget right now (I never knew how expensive preschool can be!!) So I decided to do my own 'preschool' with Andrew at home. He doesn't get the full benefit of being with other kids his age, but he has been learning a lot, and he has LOVED it!! We do it every morning (almost), and has been so much fun for both of us. Most of the time Carrie is napping when we do it, but if she is awake then she comes along... but it has been great to have some one-on-one time with Andrew, and he looks forward to it every day. He is learning to write his letters and numbers, and we have learned about frogs, bugs, birds, and dinosaurs, among other things... there is so much more for us to learn!! It takes time to find ideas and art projects, and to get things ready, and to actually sit down and do it, but it has been so rewarding. I think I look forward to it as much as he does!! I love seeing him get so excited to learn, and I especially love being a part of that process. Who knows, maybe someday I will have my own preschool... that would be fun. :) Here is a sample of some of the projects Andrew has done... I know, probably weird that I take a picture of this each week. But I really am serious about having a preschool someday, so I am keeping these as ideas to use in the future!
I found this cute tutu on the internet by a lady who makes them by hand, and sells them cheap! I thought it was so cute, so I got one for Carrie. I decided that she can be a ballerina for Halloween, and take some really fun, cute pictures in the meantime. I had taken some pictures of Carrie in the tutu with no shirt on... but my husband being the modest man that he is didn't like them. I can't complain, he is only watching out for his baby girl. So I did them again, this time with a onesie on, and this is what we got!! I have so much fun taking pictures, especially of my kids!! Someday I would love to learn more about photography so I can take better pictures, but for now it is just a hobby.
