{some firsts}

Andrew started school yesterday.
I still can't believe he is already in SECOND GRADE!
He is going to a new school this year... again.
I hope he is able to make friends quickly and that he will love his school, his teacher, and his class!
He was SO excited to go yesterday morning. I am excited for him!

Carrie had her very first soccer game last night.
I could go on and on about how cute I think she is in her "transformers" (that is what she calls her uniform).
I couldn't be there at the game, so I asked Kevin to make sure to take lots of video for me, and he didn't disappoint!

Here are just a couple of fun highlights from her game....

{slow down}

Sometimes I wish I could just slow time down.

I can't believe it has been 8 weeks already since Matthew was born and joined our family.
I can't believe our summer is already gone, and that Andrew starts school again tomorrow.

I can't believe this is Carrie's last year before she goes to Kindergarten!!

I am enjoying life with my kids, but am wishing that I could push a pause button on all the growing!

I love all three of my kids, and they are all at such fun stages of life. I just wish I could enjoy them each a little longer. Really, why do they have to grow so fast?!

Since I can't push pause, I will just have to keep doing my best to enjoy each day, each quirk, and each and every moment I have with my kids while they are still young.

{next time won't you sing with me}

Carrie has really been into drawing and writing lately.

Today she asked me if she wrote all the ABC's, if I would sing the ABC song with her.

Of course I will!

So she got busy writing all of the alphabet (she only needed help with a handful of them), and then we sang the ABC song together as promised.

She was so proud of herself!

{just plain happy}

With having the baby this summer, we haven't gotten out as much as we normally would.
Sometimes we get a little stir crazy!
So even the simplest, smallest outings are exciting. :)

Last night we got some unhealthy, but very delicious, KFC, and headed to the park to have a picnic.
The kids were in seventh heaven!
We let them run around and play for quite a while.
I enjoyed relaxing and watching my family enjoy one another's company.
Such a simple thing, but it is the thing that makes me happier than anything else in the world right now.
I am doing my best to appreciate and soak up these moments as best as I can!

{blessings, blessings}

Sunday was such a great day...

Our sweet baby Matthew was blessed in church.
I am so thankful for a husband who holds the priesthood.
I am even more grateful that he keeps himself worthy, so that he can use the priesthood.
What a huge blessing that is in our home.

I am so thankful for my adorable little family.
I am also thankful for both my family, and Kevin's family.
We love them all so much.
and I love knowing that I have the opportunity to be with these wonderful people forever.

We are truly blessed.

{every child is an artist}

It is always fun when your kids are creative building, creating, making, or in this case...
drawing things.

It is also fun to watch how they develop and improve these skills as they get older.

The other day Andrew decided he wanted to draw a bald eagle.
He started it several times, until he got it "just right".
I think that it turned out pretty good!
One night Carrie decided to draw a picture of our family on the white board.
She told me the reason she drew a picture of our family was because she wanted to have Family Home Evening. :)
