{8 months}

This sweet sweet boy is now 8 months old.

He is such a delightful baby!

What is he up too this month?:
*scooting (not full blown crawling yet)
*drooling like crazy (4 teeth have just recently come through)
*can sit longer without help
*loves to smile and giggle (always smiles when you sing to him)
*Eats a LOT
*weighs over 18 pounds
*He hardly ever cries. Only when he gets over tired, or is hungry. He is really the most content and happy baby I have ever known!
*He goes to sleep on his own (has for quite a while)... snuggle him up, and lay him down. That's all it takes
*Rarely wakes up during the night
*He likes to bounce in his exersaucer
*He loves to take a bath, and his favorite is to be on his belly and swim around like a little fish. He goes wild in the bath! It cracks me up because he is otherwise so mellow.

{just because}

 This sweet 5 year old absolutely ADORES her baby brother.
I know I always say it, but it is true and needs to be said often... I have THE GREATEST kids.

I love them each more than I could ever express in words. I am truly blessed.

{lucky number 5}

On January 30th Carrie turned five.
Sometimes one of the hardest parts for me as a parent is simply watching my babies grow. One part of  me is so excited for them and with them for the new changes they experience as they grow, while another part of me aches knowing that things will never be the same, and wanting them to stay my babies longer. I am just thankful I have them, and can be on this journey with them. I have awesome kids.

Back to Carrie....

She has been talking about turning five since... well, I think since she turned four! haha. Recently several of her friends have turned five, so she was more than ready. :)

Saturday morning she had a little party with some of her friends. She has never had a friend party before, and was so excited. Carrie is obsessed with Hello Kitty lately, so surprise, surprise... that was the theme she wanted to go with. We had a good time decorating and planning the party. It was a lot of fun to see her with her friends. Girls are so much fun!
...with Ava...

Something that Carrie has wanted and been asking for, for at least a year, is to get her ears pierced. I told her when she turned 5... thinking she might change her mind before then. She didn't! She wanted it more than ever. So after her party, we headed to the mall to get her ear pierced. She was so brave. This little girl impresses me sometimes with how strong she can be. She was a little nervous, but nothing was going to get in the way... certainly not a little pain! ;) She did very well, and has been so happy with her cute pink flower earrings.
You can't see them super well, but see a little bit of sparkle there on her ear?!
She couldn't be happier!

After we got her ears pierced we headed to grandma and grandpa Allen's house for some more fun. They of course spoiled her rotten. They know her well, and knows what she loves!

Then came her actual birthday. Andrew had a gift for Carrie... I had told him we were going to wait until later that evening to give her our gifts. We was so excited though, and begged me to give her his gift before he went to school. Okay.... you convinced me. ;)
...these two are the best of buddies...

We sure do love our sweet.sensitive.silly.energetic.hugging. girl.
Our family would not be complete without her!!
Happy happy birthday Carrie Anne!!!
