...the view driving home from Salt Lake. Beautiful!...
 ...this summer has been a busy one, and our house has suffered. Today the kids and I got to work and got their rooms cleaned and organized. Carrie was excited to have her room back and have a nice clean place to play!...

{11 years}

This year Kevin and I celebrated our 11th year anniversary. My parents watched the kids for us so we could go on a date. We went to dinner, walked around the Gateway Mall, then went to a laser show and the Clark Planetarium in Salt Lake. More than anything we were just excited to have a night out, just the two of us.... that doesn't happen for us very often. We had a great time talking and relaxing, and I am so grateful for this amazing man that I have been blessed to have as my husband for eleven years now.

{Andrew is NINE!}

It is hard to imagine that NINE years ago we became parents. We were so excited to meet our baby, and we love him more than anything. We celebrated his birthday on the 4th of July, but had to celebrate a couple of days later on his real birthday...... with birthday cinnamon rolls!!!!
Our Andrew is certainly growing up. He is a good helper at home, and a great older brother to Carrie and Matthew. He excels in school... math, reading, (learning in general) come easily to him, and is something he has always been interested in. He also loves to ride his bike, roller blade, scooter, and of course.. play video games. This kid is A.W.E.S.O.M.E. and we are so happy he is ours. One of my favorite things about this boy is his laugh. He loves to be silly, and we have a lot of fun! He is the only one in our family that doesn't have brown eyes too... red hair and blue eyes. So handsome. :)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, ANDREW!!!

{Independence Day}

This year Andrew and I started off the 4th of July with a 5k. The race didn't start until 8:30, and by that time it was already starting to get pretty hot. Just as the race started Andrew got a side ache. He was a good sport, and tried hard. We ran the parade course, and at one point passed my family... we ran and waved to them, then Andrew grabbed his side again. I asked if he wanted to stop, and he had a hard time deciding. He wanted to keep going, but he was in pain, and had just passed everyone resting on the grass. We ended up stopping and walking back to join the family... we ran about 2 miles. Andrew is tough, and I don't know if I would have made it that far with a side ache like he had. From there we watched the city parade.

Later in the day we headed over to my parents house to have a BBQ with the whole family, let the kids play, relax, and watch fireworks that night.
While we were there we also celebrated Andrew's birthday
Grandma and Grandpa Allen gave him some awesome roller-blades. Just what he wanted!! :)
This boy was entertained by water balloons for a long time.
He is lucky his cousin Kalynn loves him... she kept filling them up for him
He also spent a lot of time hanging out with Jack and Annie :)
