{Mother's Day}

I think having had a baby recently has got me thinking a lot about my role as a mother lately, and the relationship I have with each of my four kids. Each one has their own unique personality, and they each have a very special place in my heart. I know I often fall short, but I am continually trying to learn how to be a better mother for them. Being a mom is definitely not always easy. There are good days and not so good days.... but I wouldn't trade my chance to be a mom for anything in the world. I feel blessed and am so thankful that I get to live my dream job each day.

To my biggest boy, Andrew:
First of all, thank you for making me a mom! From day one you have kept me on my toes, but man.. you are an awesome boy. You came to this earth ready to learn. I am constantly amazed at how quickly you pick up on new things, and at your memory. We both share a love for reading, and I love that! I enjoy watching you play basketball in the back yard, and I love that you have so many different interests (such as: cooking, pokemon, rubix cubes, science, games, building things, ect). I have loved having the opportunity to teach you to play the piano, and was shocked and amazed at how quickly you picked that up. It has been a joy to watch you improve, and am excited to see where that may lead. One of the best things about being a mom is seeing you and the other kids play together, and watching you teach them new things. It has been fun to see you with baby Joshua this last month, and how good you are at helping to hold him or feed him, and just how much you care about him and love him. You drive me crazy like no one else can and I go to bed many nights regretful that I wasn't more patient. Just know that I am constantly working on it, and hopefully some day will be better. And although we don't always see eye to eye, through it all we always forgive each other, and are stronger for it. One of my favorite things is when we can sit and laugh with each other. I can be silly with you, and be my true self. I want you to know that to me that is something extremely special, because there aren't a lot of people that I feel comfortable enough with to let them know and see the true me. You have so many talents and qualities, and I am so blessed and proud to be your mom! You are my favorite Andrew in the entire world, and I am so happy that you are mine!! I love you!!

To my Carrie Bear:
My one and only girl. You are such an easy going, fun loving girl full of sparkle, love, sweetness, talent and beauty. You are such a good little artist, and it has been fun to watch you get better as you use that talent. I love to hear you giggle! I love to listen to you read. You are such a good helper to read stories to Matthew at night and to help get him to bed. I treasure the time we spend together, and feel blessed and honored to have you. I love the hugs and kisses that you so freely give. You are such a peacekeeper in our home, and you often go out of your way to make those around you happy. You are a good friend, and love others easily. You try very hard to always do the right thing and to make good choices. You are so brave and often surprise me with your inner strength to do hard things. I sure love you, and your scrunchy nose!!

To my bubba boy, Matthew:
You are such a ball of energy! One of your favorite things is to make us all laugh, and you are really good at it! Your laugh is contagious, and your dimples when you smile/laugh are irresistible! You are such a special little guy, and we appreciate you so much. We needed you in our family. I love to hear you pray, and am thankful for the times you remind us to read our scriptures and pray together. You are so friendly to all you meet, and I love that you aren't afraid to wave and say hi to people. You are so stinking smart! You are a sponge, and I am often surprised at the things you understand and remember. You are such a cute big brother, and it melts my heart when I hear you talk about your "baby brudder," or ask me "where's baby Joshua?" You really really like it when we are together as a family, and like to be right in the middle of things. If anyone is gone, you miss them until they come back home. Your favorite things to play with are trains, cars, blocks and balls, but love to play with any toys. You recently learned to ride your bike and can spend hours outside riding bikes/scooters, playing in the sandbox and swinging. You are such a fun boy, and our family wouldn't be the same without you. Love you!!

To my little munch, baby Joshua:
Heavenly Father sent you to me at a time I needed my heart to heal, and I know that was a direct answer to my prayers. I know it has only been a month since you were born and became a part of our family, but in that short time you have completely stolen my heart. We were all so excited to meet you, and you have brought so much love and joy into our home! It has been so much fun having a baby again, and I have cherished the opportunity to slow down a little bit and be reminded how blessed we are, and what a gift families are. I can't wait to see your little personality  develop, and the person you will become. I love you, my sweet chubby boy!!
