{mini vacay}

We decided we needed a getaway, so we took a drive up to Park City and spent a couple of nights in a hotel. We spent a lot of time at the pool while we were there, and also walking around the shopping outlet, and at the Park. Before going home we drove out to Cascade Springs and walked around there. That is a place I remember going with my gma and gpa Naylor, and also with my family growing up. It was fun to take the kids there and explore. It was crazy hot though, and not all the kids were loving it, so our stop there wasn't as long as it could have been. We will have to go again in the spring/fall when it's not so hot!

{Matthew is FOUR!!!}

Bubba boy is FOUR YEARS old!!! He has been talking about his birthday for at least 6 months, and the day has finally come!! We had SO MUCH fun celebrating his birthday. He has such a happy and delightful personality, and we are so thankful to have him in our family!!

Things I love about this boy:
*his hugs and kisses
*how he says "you're my best friend"
*how he says "I missed you!!" even if you were only apart for a very short time
*he genuinely loves everyone
*his love/obsession with trains and cars
*how he loves to be outside, especially if someone else is outside with him
*his dimples
*how he dances when there is music on
...Matthew got a swimming pool from his grandma and grandpa Allen. (also his paw patrol swimming suit, and a new beach towel) We spent most of the day outside in the backyard...
 ...opening presents!...
 ...new Thomas the Train minis...
 ...Matthew saw this "roundy roundy road" (as he calls it) months ago at the store. He has been talking about it and wanting it for his birthday ever since!!...
 ...I think he likes it!! He spent his day going back and forth between this and the pool...

{dressed in white}

Yesterday was a very special day for our family.. one we will never forget.
Kevin had the opportunity to baptize our sweet Carrie, and to give our little Joshua Wallace a baby blessing. It was a beautiful day, and we are so thankful for all of the support we received from our families, and from our friends/ward family.

...One of Carrie's best friends, Kaitlin Cano, was also baptized. So fun that they got to share their special day. They were both so excited!!...
...Carrie adores her grandma and grandpa Allen...

{Wallace E. Naylor(1923 - 2016)}

My sweet grandpa Naylor passed away, and joined my angel grandma in heaven. I can only imagine what a happy time that was for them, to be reunited. The love they had and the way they took care of one another here on earth will always be something that I will remember and admire. It has been a hard year having to say good-bye to my grandma in January, and now my grandpa. Their home was my "home away from home," and a place I loved to be. They are such special people to me, and they will forever have a place in my heart.
Just some of the many things that come to my mind when I think of my grandpa:
*being the first to hold me when I was born
*his whistling and singing
*his happy smile, his hugs, and how he always made you feel loved and important
*the certain way he said "hello" when he answered the phone
*boating/water skiing
*playing out in the yard while he did yard work
*watching him work in the garage
*listening to Harry Belafonte/Phantom of the Opera/The Music Man
*helping my grandma with her quilting
*his grandfather clock
*spending many many nights at his house
*pancakes/waffles he made for breakfast
*hardworker. handyman
I have so many fond memories of my grandpa, and I feel blessed to have had him as such an important part of my life for so many years. The last time I was able to visit him before he passed away I will always cherish. It was Mother's Day, and we were visiting my mom. The place where he was living was close to my parents, so I decided I wanted to go see him. Kevin went with me, and we also took baby Joshua with us so grandpa could meet us. It was difficult to see my grandpa looking so frail, but I will forever be grateful for that day, and being able to hold his hand and spend time with him chatting, and helping his a little bit. He got to meet Joshua (who's middle name is Wallace, named after him), and he said several times, "He sure is a cute son of a gun" which would make me laugh.
I love you, and miss you, grandpa!!
I am looking forward to seeing you again...
